DetailsLittle Boy Lake is located in Cass County about 2mi South of Longville, MN. The lake has an area of approximately 1,452acres. Of this area, almost 1,00acres are more than 15’ deep with the maximum depth reaching 74’. Public access to the lake is located in the Southwest corner off of County Road 54, just North of County Road 102. About a quarter mile Northwest of the public boat launch, there is a water access channel that connects Little Boy Lake to Wabedo Lake.
Amenities & AttractionsTradition Outdoors, Front Porch Tavern, Little Boy Resort & Campground, and YMCA Camp Olson are all located on Little Boy Lake.
- Tradition Outdoors is located adjacent to Little Boy Resort & Campground. They offer paddleboats & kayaks for rental use or purchase and also have a collection of apparel available.
- Front Porch Tavern is open to the public by lake or land and is located in the lower level of the new lodge at Little Boy Resort & Campground. Their food menu offers soups, salads, sandwiches, quesadillas, wraps, and more. They also have bar and coffee menus.
- Little Boy Resort & Campground has been on Little Boy Lake for more than 90years. They have 10 cabins, 25 seasonal campsites, 14 campsites with water & electric, 4 RV full hookup sites, and 4 suites in their new lodge to accommodate a variety of needs.
- Camp Olson, founded in 1954, covers more than 1,300acres on Little Boy, Cooper, and Shurd Lake. Although it is primarily a youth summer camp, they also offer retreats, family programs, and off-season rentals. Their facilities include 21 cabins, a dining hall, 2 dorm-style staff lodges, staff lounge, 2 bathhouses, all-season health center, outbound trip center, and more.
Little Boy Lake is home to a wide variety of fish. Some of the fish surveyed include bluegill; both northern & hybrid sunfish; pumpkinseed; yellow perch; black crappie; largemouth, smallmouth, & rock bass; walleye; northern pike; muskellunge; and black, brown, & yellow bullhead. Every few years the DNR stocks Walleye in the lake, the last time being in 2021. Little Boy Lake currently has special fishing regulations on Northern Pike and Walleye.
